Dear Rod,
I believe the Pueblo info is correct. The family did not move back to Glasgow until later in the year 1891. Pueblo was also on the list of brothers and sisters and their birth places that his sister Elizabeth made up and that I recently got a copy of. Prior to receiving this I also listed Scotland as his birth place. Colorado did not have birth certificates back then, so I can't prove it.
Thanks for all you are doing!
Dona.

The Dumbrecks were not married until 1885 according to a copy of the marriage certificate I have. Struth was the name of Elizabeth Marshall Aitken 1st husband. I was told that he was her first cousin. They divorced in 1883. The story that I was told is that Elizabeth M. Aitken Struth was raped and that Elizabeth was the child.
In all the papers I have the married name is HARE. Apparently they went by O'Hare to people in Scotland
Received as e-mail February 6, 2000 Dear Dona, I am glad you liked the intimation to James jnr on the Commonwealth Graves Commission site, the cemeteries on the Continent are beautifully kept by the Commission and are very moving places to visit. James must have been a professional soldier as he was in battle at a very early part of the war before the territorial or reserve battalions were called to the colours. The first battalion of the Scots Guards were regular soldiers and truly the flower of Scotland you must be proud to have been in his family. I am only too happy to do a bit of research into the Dumbreck family alongside the research I am doing into my own family the Cullen/Gillespie Clan. Apart from the indirect connection I have to the Dumbrecks through my Uncle Willie O'Hare there is the more general connection in that Elizabeth jnr and her family grew up with both sides of my mothers family the Cullen/Gillespies. The O'Hares lived on the floor below my mothers family at 225 Garscube Road, Cowcaddens, Glasgow. Elizabeth had a small eatery in North Woodside Road and my Grandmother had a Butchers shop round the corner. As I have said therefore I am only too happy to do a bit of research do not require any expenses, the costs to me are only pennies and I am rewarded in finding out new facts and interesting stories. I was very obliged to you for sending all those wonderful pictures and the history that went with them. I got into genealogy as I was a Homicide Detective for 30 years and after retiring a couple of years ago I found I needed to get an interest. Last year I was in Madison Wisconsin and our hotel looked out onto the beautiful State Capitol building which I wanted to photograph but there was a construction crane in the way. I saw that on the crane was the name of the builder 'Cullen' Construction. My grandfathers family were all builders and stonemasons and built Cathedrals and such in their native Ireland. Three of his uncles left Ireland for the USA so that got me into tracing the ancestors. I have found out a lot of amazing things and been reunited with family members I have not seen in many years. I will see if I can find anything out about Allan Dumbreck I checked the US Social Security register and found an Allan Dumbreck born in Missouri on July 21, 1895 who died there in 1965 I think this could possibly be a relative of John Dumbreck who I believe you said was at sometime in Kansas. I tried to scan James Jnrs Death Cert but it would not come out clear so I will post it to you tomorrow. I will be in touch soon. Willie.
