Charles Butler

     Charles Butler was born in 1829 at Hampshire, England.
Charles Butler married Elipsaba Rowe.1 He trained as a bricklayer before migrating to Victoria in 1856. He began work as a builder and contractor and was responsible for building some of Melbourne’s best known early buildings, such as the “Victoria Coffee Palace” later the Victoria Hotel and the Methodist Ladies College, among others.
In 1886 he later opened the South Brunswick Brick Company Limited at 9 to 23 Albion Street near the corner of Albion Street and Henderson Street, at what is now Jones Park Brunswick East, Moreland City. The bricks bear the frog impressions of either "SOUTH BRUNSWICK", "S.B.B.C." or "C.BUTLER". Charles had three sons, Charlie, Alf and Bert. Charlie was the son who followed dad into the business.2 Charles Butler arrived in 1857 to Victoria.3
Charles died on 11 December 1901 at 51 Fitzgibbon Street at Parkville, Melbourne, Victoria, He died from Exhaustion having been diagnosed with Stomach Cancer for 4 months his doctor having seen him last, the day before. at age at an unknown age .4,3 He was buried on 13 December 1901 at Melbourne General Cemetery, College Crescent, Carlton North, Melbourne. Wesleyan Area, compartment F, grave no. 1163.3

Elizabeth Wilson married Thomas William Methven in 1891.1 Elizabeth Wilson was made the co-executor of Mary Gamble's estate on 20 December 1899; an unknown person were granted Probate and became Co-Executors of her Eastate. She left her estate to "my school friend and companion Isabella Johnstone now residing with her sister Mrs Prior, Scotchmere Street, North Fitzroy all I posess for the rest of her natural life." Further:"thereafter on her demise to be divided between Mrs Nancey Wilson's eldest son and her daughter Elizabeth Methven. Nancey Wilson being my first cousin on my Maternal side." Elizabeth Wilson lived on 20 December 1899 at Barongarook, Victoria, Barongarook is a rural village 10 km south of Colac in western Victoria. It is situated in the direction of the Otway ranges, and was on the Beech Forest railway line (1902-62). It is thought that 'Borongarook' was derived from an Aboriginal word meaning running water.

She was aged at an unknown age . They arrived with 254 other passengers. Adults numbered 226 and only one death was reported during the trip.1
Nancy Lamont died on 2 April 1902 at Barongarook East, Victoria. She died of Senile Atrophy of the Brain and Asthenia (weakness and fatigue) which she had been suffering for three days.2,3 She was buried on 5 April 1902 at Geelong Eastern Cemetery, 141 Ormond Road, Geelong, Victoria. Geelong Eastern Cemetery is a cemetery located in the city of Geelong, Victoria in Australia. The cemetery dates back to 1839. The Eastern Cemetery Gatehouse is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. Her burrial location is given as EAS-METH-OLD-E-807-077 .4
