Mrs. Thomas Wilson, Ulverstone
General regret was expressed last evening, when it became known that Mrs. Mabel Wilson, wife of Mr. Thomas Wilson, a well known and highly respected resident of Ulver-stone, had died. The late Mrs. Wilson had not enjoyed good health for some time, but became seriously ill less than a fortnight ago. The late Mrs. Wilson, who was in her 69th year, was a native of Launceston and a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Inglis. She came to the North-West Coast with her husband 34 years ago, and had been a resident of Ulverstone ever since. She took an active part in public affairs. During the war she was a keen worker for the Red Cross. She was also a worker for the band, and for many years took a prominent part in the Croquet Club.
In addition to her husband, the late Mrs. Wilson leaves a family of five sons, Dr. Roland Wilson (Common-wealth Statistician, Canberra), and Messrs. T. K., W. M., D. J., and N. B. Wilson (Ulverstone).
The funeral is appointed to leave her late residence, Alexandra Boad, Ulverstone, at 3 p.m. to-day, for the Church of England cemetery. Her obituary in the Burnie Advocate reads as: Advocate (Burnie, Tas. : 1890 - 1954), Monday 28 February 1938, page 2.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Mabel Wilson, of Ulverstone, who died on Friday, look place on Saturday afternoon. There was an exceptionally large and representative gathering. Tho service at the graveside was conducted by the rector (Ecv. B. S. Hammond), who paid a tribute to the life of the late Mrs. Wilson, and extended sympathy to the bereaved.
Tho chief mourners were Mr. Thomas Wilson (husband), Dr. Roland Wilson, Messrs. T. K., W. M., N. B. and D. J. Wilson (sons); Messrs. James Wilson (Devonport) and John Wilson (Launceston), brothers-in-law; and Mr. E. Wilson (Dovonport), nephew.
Tho carriers were four employees of the Ulverstone Woodworking Factory, Messrs. R. Chisholm, K. Baade, E. Jones and H. Brooks, and the pallbearers were Messrs. J. R. Robinson, G. E. Wall, W. Marshall, O. E. White, C. A. Dunning and A. B. Wilkins.
Among tho many beautiful floral tributes were wreaths from Leven Masonic Lodge, employes of the Ulverstone Woodworking Factory, Ulverstone, Burnie and Devonport Surf Lifesaving Clubs, the Ulverstone Club, Tasma Hardwood Co., Ulverstone Golf Club, Wilson Bros. Devonport, employes Wilson Bros., Devonport, "The Advocate,", tho staff of the Commonwealth Bureau of Census and Statistics, thc committee and members of the Ulverstone Brass Band, the Ulverstone Woodworking Factory, and many others.
