It is believed that this is the family business that caused a family rift between Charles and others. at Fuel Merchant.
George Allan Clark married Jestina Janet Pearson circa 1955. George Allan Clark was widowed with the death of Frances Emma Cox on 12 December 1957 at Richmond, VictoriaG; There is also documented death for her in East Oakleigh which I put down to maybe, hospital Vs home.3
George died on 6 October 1973 at Dandenong, VictoriaG, His usual place of residence at that time was 1297 Centre Road, South Oakleigh.
His cause of death is listed as "Cerebrovascular acident - sudden, generalised arteriosclerosis, ischaemic heart disease - 3 years, congestive cardiac failure" at age 78.4 He was cremated on 9 October 1973 at Springvale Crematorium, Springvale, Melbourne, VictoriaG.

From "The Argus" - EMPLOYEE ASSAULTS EMPLOYER.
Wearing a bandage over his left cheek, Mr James Alexander Gamble, managing: director of ? the Gamble Brick Company, appeared at the Oakleigh Police Court on Thursday to give ? evidence against Leith J. Beasley, a former employee who ,was charged with having assaulted ? Mr Gamble. It was stated that about four months' ago Mr Gamble dismissed Beasley for disobedience. On January 25 Mr Gamble was riding a bicycle in Ferntree Gully road, Oakleigh, when Beasley hit him under, the left eye, the wound necessitating medical attention. Beasley stated that Mr Gamble attempted to ride him down. He did not assault him, but warded him off. Beasley was fined £7/7/, with, £3/14/6 costs.5


James died on 13 May 1926 at Balwyn, Melbourne, VictoriaG, at age 61. This death was comemorated by his family with "In Memorandum" messages in The Argus newspaper two years later on Sat 12 May 1928; "GAMBLE - In fond memory of my dear husband, Alick, who died on 13th May, 1926 (Inserted by his loving wife R. He is said to have died because of Arteriosclerosis, Hyperpiesis* and Cerbral Haemorrhage. [*hyperpiesis - persistent and pathological high blood pressure for which no specific cause can be found. essential hypertension, hyperpiesia. high blood pressure, hypertension - a common disorder in which blood pressure remains abnormally high (a reading of 140/90 mm Hg or greater)] He was last seen by Dr Colin Friend on the 13th May.
He is described as a person "of indepentent means".1 He was buried on 14 May 1926 at Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery, Coburg, VictoriaG. This Headstone reads
"Alick GAMBLE, died 13 May 1926, husband of C. Gamble.
Lilly M. GAMBLE, died 21 June 1907, aged 46 Years, wife of Jas A GAMBLE. James A. Gamble, died 13 May 1926. In 62nd year, father of Vera, Bertha, Gilbert and Lily."
[C Gamble is "Cissy" the alternate name for his wife Lilly.]

Driver Fined £1
Before Mr. J. W. T. Forrest, P.M., at the Canberra police Court yesterday, Gilbert Alexander Gamble was fined £1 with 8/6 costs for having driven a motor vehicle at night without lights. lt was stated that the defendant on the night concerned had driven his motor car along Mort Street, Braddon, in an unlighted condition.  
A charge of dangerous driving against Gamble was withdrawn.

She married William James Brewer on 22 December 1886 at VictoriaG.1 Isabella and William appeared on the Australian electoral roll of 1903 and listed as living at Park Crescent, Fairfield, VictoriaG. Isabella had a listed occupation of Home Duties and he of Timber Merchant. In William James Brewer's will dated 26 October 1928, Isabella Gamble was named as executor; The Argus reported on this fact on Fri 26 October 1928 on page 6: "Mr. William James Brewer, of Studley Park road, Kew, timber merchant, who died on August 6, 1927, left by will dated August 24, 1926, real estate of a gross value of £20,720 and personal property of a gross value of £40,077 to his wife and children, subject to several bequests to relatives. He appointed his wife, Mrs. Isabella Brewer, and one of his sons, Mr. Herbert William Brewer, to bo the executors and trustees of his will. The will was lodged for probate yesterday."
Isabella died on 15 March 1932 at 102 Studley Park Road at Kew, VictoriaG, She is listed as having suffered Colon Cancer for an unknown period. She was last seen by Dr F. He was burried with his wife Isabella, and sons Lawrence and Stanley.2 He left a will on 26 October 1928.
