     His was commonly known as Charlie. Charles was born on 4 May 1903 at Port Fairy, Victoria.¹ Bill Ingles and Charlie Vennell were great friends. Charlie was a fitter and turner by trade and from memory they became friends during Bill's apprentise years. I am not sure if it was the reason or a coincidence. Eventually Bill and Shiela and Charlie and Gwenny became best of friends and remained so for all their lives. They were always at any Ingles Christmas dinner and after Charlie and Bill died Gwen would attend Christmas dinner with the Clarks (Jane and Andrew and family).
At the time of writing (2018) I still have a hand made copper tube based room lamp made by Charlie. He was a witness at Wallace Ingles and Marie Trese Matheson's wedding on 4 June 1932 at St Mary's Catholic Church, Williamstown, Victoria. He was 27 at the time and resided at Commercial Road, Prahran whilst she was 24 years old and lived at 64 Osborne St, Williamstown.
Terese's father, Roderick Matheson was listed as a Sea Captain on their Marriage Certificate whilst David Ingles was listed as a Grocer..²
He married Gweneth Irene Roberts on 13 August 1959 at Robin Hill, 111 Mona Vale Road, Pymble, New South Wales. Both Charlie and Gwen have registered their address at this stage as 9 Loch Street St Kilda Victoria. One can only wonder why they went to NSW to be married particularly as later in life I knew them as athiests. Maybe he was a friend of thers or there was some family conection in the area. With no formal church building at that time "Robin Hill" appears to be a historic home.
As a note, the roots of the Pymble Presbyterian Church are traced back to 1956 when Rev Robert MacArthur (who married them) of the Pymble Presbyterian Church commenced preaching in an expanding and developing suburb of St Ives.The original venue was the Masonic Hall, with Wilf McGilvray and Charles Brierley, in particular, door knocking to establish a Sunday School.In 1957, it was agreed to purchase 2 blocks of land at the corner of Mona Vale Road and Douglas Street for $11,000. A Church Hall was completed at a cost of $18,000 and opened on Sunday, 1st April 1962.³
Charles Henry Vennell died on 18 January 1988 at East Malvern, Melbourne, at age 84. At the time of his death he was listed as a Fitter and Turner.^4,5 At the time of his death Charlie is reported as living at at 15 Moama Road, East Malvern, Melbourne; He died from a Myocardial Infarction and a Hematemesis (? peptic ulcer).⁵ He was cremated on 21 January 1988 at Springvale Crematorium, Melbourne.⁵

     Her was commonly known as Gwen. Gweneth was born on 28 August 1906 at Bairnsdale, Victoria.^1,2 She was a physiotherapist, working in the hospital system. She seemed to specialise or had expertise in physiotherapy for pregnant women. Her married name was Vennell.

Gweneth died on 29 May 2002 at Caulfield, Victoria, Gwen had been suffering with Aortic Stenosis for a year or so resulting in Congestive Cardiac Failure. Finally after a couple of months see sufferred a cardic event which resulted in her death. at age 95.^1,4 At the time of her death Gweneth is reported as living at at MECWA HOUSE, 171 Darling Road, East Malvern, Melbourne. At the time of her death Gweneth is reported as living at at 6 Warner Steet, Malvern, Melbourne, Victoria.

     Robert Ambrose Roberts was born in 1875.
He married Beatrice Melina Senger in 1905 at Maldon, Victoria. Robert Ambrose Roberts and Beatrice Melina Senger lived on 12 March 1907 at Bruthen, Victoria, On this date they were presented with a Silver Tray enscribed "Presented to the Rev. R.A. Roberst & Mrs Roberts on the eve of their departure from BRUTHEN by the Members and Adherents of the Tambo Congregational Churches - 12-3-07."
